We answer questions and give referrals to callers of all ages, sexual orientations, and lifestyles. All calls are confidential.
Our organization supports all consensual lifestyles and behaviors. We believe that accurate information enables each person to make choices in their own life that are best for them.

Our hours are (US/Pacific time)
- 3-9 PM Monday through Thursday
- 3-7 PM Friday
- 2-6 PM Saturday
- 2-5 PM Sunday
We are not open holidays or holiday weekends.
We are not a phone sex service. We do not accept calls of that nature. Volunteers will terminate calls that are abusive or inappropriate.
Details
Calls are answered in the order they are received, by the first available volunteer. All of our volunteers receive the same training and can answer a wide range of questions and provide information about many concerns. Each shift of volunteers has a supervisor to ensure the quality of information.

We provide information about sexually transmitted diseases, contraception, "how-to" advice for activities, anatomy and physiology, the sexual response cycle, bi, gay, and straight sexuality, gender, aging, disabilities, consent, ideas for how to meet people, practice with communication about sexual subjects, and much, much more.
To get the most out of a call to our switchboard, think about what you want to know. We are aware that additional questions may arise during the course of a call, so feel free to ask more questions. Our volunteer may ask you if there is more you want to know about, or how you feel about things.
We cannot tell you what to do, but we can answer questions, help you clarify your own feelings, and provide information, resources or referrals.
At the present time, the majority of our available referrals are in the San Francisco Bay Area, but we have a database of many national and regional resources. We would like to add additional referral resources for other areas and would appreciate your suggestions.
Note that you can also send in your question by email, but it may take several days for responses by email. Due to number of emails received, we cannot answer every email. If your question is urgent, please call our switchboard instead of sending email.
